Eastern Area Director’s Welcome!

My Dear Sister Links,

Sometimes, in order to move forward, one must go back. In the Twi language of Ghana, the word Sankofa means, “go back and get it” (san – to return; ko – to go; fa – to fetch, to seek and take). This year’s conference theme is rooted in the traditions of The Links. We are going back to reclaim the bold legacy of our organization and celebrate not only where we have come from, but also the talent and spirit leading the way to where we are heading. This conference marks our 44th year of service to our communities and the strength of the friendships we have made. Our roots are in service and this conference pays homage to that.

I look forward to seeing every one of you up close and personal as we celebrate our legacy here in Richmond, a city with a history as rich as our own. So let us go back, reclaim our roots, and then charge forward into the next chapter of The Eastern Area of The Links, Incorporated.

Affectionately yours,

Natalie H. Fant
